Valentino, you have stolen my Heart

Based on the latest Valentino runway collection, it seems duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have eased gracefully into their new top-designer spots at the legendary fashion house. What a vision they have brought with them! Their Spring collection is simply to die for. All the pieces are refreshing and youthful with their swirling hemlines, feather-light layerings, ruffles and sophisticated palettes of nude, muted rose, lavender, gold, and grey. Doesn't it just sound like a mystical fairytale?

What I loved most about this collection was the element of contrasting textures: gathers of organza, tulle, chiffon and sheer fabrics against black antique lace and embellished rosettes. It's feminine, floaty and romantic with a touch of Gothic edge. So perfect.
